Nocturel™
Nocturel™ is a new controlled-release formulation of Trimipramine.
Trimipramine was one of the last tricyclic antidepressants to be developed which has excellent anxiolytic properties. In terms of efficacy, the tricyclics have never been beaten, and are still used extensively today for moderate to severe agitation, depression & anxiety.
Insomnia is one of the six cardinal symptoms of anxiety. Apart from its direct anxiolytic activity, Trimipramine is unique in that it works on both quality and quantity of sleep, improving the amount of REM sleep thus providing patients with refreshing rest and therefore improving their state of mind.
Nocturel™ has an improved dosing regimen, and should also provide an improved side effect profile for patients. Its efficacy profile also will be better defined with a clear indication in an anxiety disorder providing physicians with a well-defined patient group.
Nocturel™ is currently available for partnering/out-licensing.
ZY102
ZY102 is a controlled release formulation of an existing antipsychotic agent. Zysis has re-formulated the existing standard release product to generate an agent with the potential to dose orally once weekly. This new controlled release version is currently in phase I bioequivalence testing.
